Microsoft to Host Windows and Surface Showcase on October 7th

After more than two years since the last significant Windows event, Microsoft is gearing up for a big reveal in San Francisco next month. On October 7th, the company plans to host a discussion centered on how local AI will influence the future of PCs and Surface devices.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be present, along with Pavan Davuluri, who leads the Windows and Surface teams. Notably, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will also join the event, hinting that RTX Spark PCs might take center stage. If that’s the case, we could see updates on the pricing and availability of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra.

Expect Microsoft to highlight enhancements to Windows and what’s on the horizon, although a surprise announcement for Windows 12 seems unlikely. The last major Windows event took place in May 2024, where new Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs were introduced alongside a renewed partnership with Qualcomm. Prior to that, the last significant event was in June 2021, when Windows 11 was unveiled during a livestream.

Stay tuned for live coverage of Microsoft’s Windows event from San Francisco on October 7th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.
