Mystery PlayStation Rewards Program Offering Wallet Credits to Select Players
Recent social media activity suggests that Sony is launching a new rewards program on the PlayStation Store, featuring “Wallet Credits.” This could serve as a replacement for the PlayStation Stars loyalty program, which was discontinued last year.
Over the weekend, a PS5 user in the U.K. shared a screenshot while attempting to purchase *The Blood of Dawnwalker* on the PSN store. They noticed a new message indicating that buying *Dawnwalker* would earn them a $10 Wallet Credit reward. After completing the purchase, the user confirmed they received the $10 credit added to their PlayStation account.
Another U.K. user posted a screenshot on Twitter showing a banner that promoted Wallet Credits for purchasing select games. Reports indicate that these credits are available to certain users who buy titles like *Star Wars: Zero Company*, *Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy*, and *Halloween: The Game*.
This appears to be part of a rewards program that Sony has yet to officially announce, but it seems to be rolling out this week in various regions. It may be linked to a mysterious app in the PlayStation Store called “Wallet Credits” that players discovered earlier this year.
There’s hope that this new rewards initiative will address the main shortcomings of the previous Stars program, which struggled to gain traction because players were largely unaware of it. Interaction required the PlayStation app, and it wasn’t integrated into the console’s menus or store. Whatever this Wallet Credits program entails, it looks to be more seamlessly integrated into the PSN Store.
Perhaps Sony could also find a way to convert my leftover Star points into usable PSN wallet credits soon? That would be a welcome change.
