Control Resonant Launches Day-One Patch to Simplify Enemy Encounters

Remedy’s *Control Resonant* is now available on consoles and PC. This open-world sequel to the acclaimed 2019 title *Control* has garnered a lot of positive feedback, but early players have expressed concerns about the health of enemies and bosses in the initial stages of the game. In response, the studio has decided to implement a hotfix to make these foes a bit easier to take down.

While *Control Resonant* officially launched on September 22 for those who opted for the premium version, today marks the full release for all players across platforms. Based on player feedback and insights from their own gameplay, Remedy is rolling out a patch to tackle the primary complaint regarding enemy durability, which has made the early game feel sluggish.

In a blog post, Remedy stated, “Based on what we have seen so far, we have decided to deploy a hotfix (1.3.3) at launch to address a few specific things: enemy health pools feeling too high, requiring too many hits to Falter (stun) enemies for executions, and Dylan’s overall combat strength early on in the game not feeling powerful enough (even if the man just woke up from a coma).”

The patch notes highlight three significant adjustments to *Control Resonant*:

Remedy expressed confidence that these changes will enhance the gameplay experience while still maintaining a level of challenge. They also reminded players that *Resonant* includes an assist mode, allowing those who find enemies too tough to further adjust health and damage settings for a more manageable experience—or to ramp up the difficulty if desired.

Additional tweaks in this hotfix include a permanent reduction in the cost to respec abilities and some UI text updates to clarify aspects of the game’s combat and mechanics.

Overall, the response to this hotfix has been largely positive, with many players noting that the high health of enemies was a major concern and that this patch should significantly improve the game. However, some users on Steam expressed frustration that the hotfix required them to reinstall the pre-loaded game.
