Leaked Details Reveal Fully-Foil Spider-Man Commander Deck for Magic Fans

Marvel’s Spider-Man is a Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond set that launched in September 2025. Interestingly, this set did not include preconstructed Commander decks, which are a favorite among fans of Magic’s multiplayer format. The head designer, Mark Rosewater, noted that the design process for Marvel’s Spider-Man started as a small set, but Wizards of the Coast later decided to expand it. Unfortunately, the timeline for this change was tight, leading to the omission of Commander decks. However, Rosewater hinted that these decks could still make an appearance in the future, a suggestion that gained traction from a leak earlier this June and has now received additional, unofficial backing.

On September 25, an account shared a post revealing details about a Spider-Man Commander deck expected to drop on December 4. This information was reportedly sent to the user by mistake, and as of now, there’s no official confirmation regarding the leak. The deck is set to be Jeskai (white, blue, and red), featuring Peter Parker as the Commander, with Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales as alternative Commanders.

The leaked details indicate that the deck will consist of 50 cards featuring all-new artwork, including 30 new cards and 20 reprints from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes. For those willing to invest a bit more, a Collector’s Edition will also be available, showcasing all cards with a surge foil treatment. This marks the fifth instance of Wizards of the Coast releasing fully-foil collector’s edition Commander decks, following sets like Warhammer 40,000, Modern Horizons 3, Final Fantasy, and Marvel Super Heroes.

While this information hasn’t been officially confirmed, the leak appears credible and aligns with earlier reports from this summer. Although the Marvel’s Spider-Man collection may not have resonated well with competitive Magic players, Commander remains the most popular and profitable segment of the game. Many Commander enthusiasts were disappointed by the absence of a preconstructed deck centered around New York’s iconic Web-slinger, but it looks like they might soon have the opportunity to add it to their collections just in time for the holiday season.
