Marvel’s Wolverine Introduces Option to Disable Unpopular Feature
The update that many players of Marvel’s Wolverine have been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived. The newest patch introduces the ability to disable directional assist features like scent trails, which should enhance the game’s sense of exploration.
Marvel’s Wolverine is primarily a linear action title, often guiding players through Wolverine’s heightened senses. These senses manifested as scent trails, helping players locate whiskey bottle collectibles, audio cues for material crates, and paths leading to doors in Nightmare Trials. While these features prevented players from getting lost, they also sparked discussions about the game’s linear nature.
Since the game’s launch, a segment of the community has been urging the developer to make features like scent trails optional. Around the time of release, the developer indicated they were considering a toggle for these sensory cues. A previous update on September 18 made these cues less visually intrusive, and now, with update 1.001.006 released on September 25, players can completely turn them off.
While some senses deemed “story-critical” will remain active, players can now navigate to a dedicated Senses section in the gameplay settings menu to selectively disable them. This patch also addresses various game crashes and resolves bugs that caused players to become stuck, experience misaligned claws in photo mode, and mistakenly believe the game utilized generative AI due to a glitchy bathroom sign.
