New Apple Devices: HomePod mini, iPad mini, and Apple TV 4K Unveiled in Leaks
Apple is gearing up to unveil more hardware before the year wraps up, following the recent launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and the folding iPhone Duo. Among the anticipated releases are a refreshed HomePod mini, the iPad mini 8, and an updated Apple TV 4K, as revealed by details and images found in Apple’s own code by a contributor.
While specifics are limited, the HomePod Mini 2 is expected to maintain a design similar to the original model that hit the market in late 2020. The current version comes in vibrant colors like orange, yellow, and blue, but the leaked images suggest the new model will feature more muted tones, including green, pink, blue, white, and black, making it easier to blend into home decor.
The iPad mini 8 will succeed the seventh-generation model from two years ago, upgrading from the A17 Pro chip to the newly introduced A20 Pro chip found in the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Duo. Although the leaked images only showcase the front, it appears that Apple has repositioned the front-facing camera to the landscape edge of the tablet. Additionally, a groove on the top edge of the display, reminiscent of the iPhone’s design, hints at the inclusion of an extra speaker.
According to earlier reports, the next iPad could also feature enhanced waterproofing with a new vibration-based speaker and an OLED display similar to that of the larger iPad Pro.
The current Apple TV model is approaching its four-year mark, but the latest leaks provide little insight into the upgrades for the new 4th generation version, aside from a design that closely resembles its predecessor. Previous findings suggest a possible upgrade to the A17 Pro chip, and in 2024, it’s expected that the next Apple TV will incorporate Apple’s proprietary Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip, known as the N1.
