Philips’ AI-Powered Smart Toothbrush Enhances Your Brushing Technique
First revealed in July with a limited launch anticipated for later this year, the Philips Sonicare Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 Prestige smart toothbrush is now available in Europe and the US, with a wider global release expected in 2027. While the previous model remains on the market at a discounted price of $429.99, the new “Next-Gen DiamondClean” version is launching at $379.99, offering enhanced features. It may not floss for you, but it’s a more budget-friendly option compared to Dyson’s $499 CameraJet smart toothbrush, which has faced some issues among early users.
The Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 adds to the growing lineup of devices equipped with built-in displays that have performed well for years without them. Its touchscreen allows users to choose from eight cleaning modes and three intensity levels, including gentle settings for those with sensitive teeth or gums. The display also features a “12-segment mouth map” that changes color to show which areas have been effectively brushed and where additional attention is needed.
In addition to the touchscreen, the Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 includes a color-changing light ring at the base that works in conjunction with a third-generation AI model and Philips’ “SenseIQ” technology. This feature alerts you if you’re applying too much pressure while brushing. Moreover, the 9900 can adjust its vibration intensity based on your brushing technique, ensuring a safe and effective clean.
