Fortnite Fans Go Crazy for FNAF Crossover Reveal

Did you know that Fortnite has a massive following? And that Five Nights at Freddy’s is also a fan favorite? Both statements are spot on, and if you need proof, check out Fortnite’s official tweet announcing that crossover skins from FNAF are set to land in the battle royale this October.

On September 27, after some teasing and plenty of speculation, Fortnite confirmed its exciting FNAF crossover, which will take place during the game’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares. The tweet tagged the developer Scott Games, announced that FNAF characters will be available starting October 1, and included a 40-second gameplay trailer showcasing the Five Nights at Freddy’s skins in action.

IT’S ME!

See you October 1 @fnaf_scottgames

As of Monday morning, the tweet has garnered 20 million views, 319,000 likes, and over 65,000 retweets. According to data from a prominent Fortnite dataminer, this tweet has become Fortnite’s most liked tweet ever, and it might even be the most liked video game crossover promo tweet in history, with over 1.7 million views on YouTube as well.

For some perspective on the popularity of this FNAF announcement, Rockstar’s tweet from August revealing the first official gameplay for Grand Theft Auto 6 has 52,000 retweets and 288,000 likes. While there are other GTA 6-related tweets that have outperformed the Fortnite x FNAF post, it’s clear that excitement is high for this Halloween-themed crossover.

Interestingly, the FNAF subreddit is buzzing with positive vibes, as fans of the franchise are thrilled about the collaboration. Many are even claiming that the Fortnite FNAF skins are among the best and most detailed representations of the original creepy animatronic characters ever created.

Also launching on October 1 as part of Fortnite’s Halloween festivities are skins inspired by the Purge films, Beetlejuice-themed content, and the iconic ’80s slasher Freddy Krueger. He’ll be joining the ranks of other notorious movie killers like Ghostface, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers in the Fortnite sandbox. I can’t wait to add him to my collection of cinematic villains next month.
