“Prime Video’s New Christmas Heist Film Blends ‘Reacher’ and ‘The Terminator'”

Christmas has arrived early for Alan Ritchson, the star of the hit series Reacher. Just days after the finale of season 4 aired, the show was renewed for a sixth season, solidifying its status as one of the biggest hits on the streaming platform. While a release date for season 5 is still under wraps, Ritchson is set to return to the service in December, teaming up with Arnold Schwarzenegger for a festive adventure.

This unexpected pairing brings together two of Hollywood’s most iconic action stars, both of whom have a knack for comedy as well.

The first teaser trailer for The Man with the Bag was released, showcasing Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus on a quest to retrieve his magical bag, which has been swiped by a disgruntled elf played by Awkwafina. To pull off this heist, Santa enlists the help of Vance (Ritchson), a thief who surprisingly appears on his “naughty list.” Vance gathers a crew of quirky criminals, while Santa gets some assistance from his trusty reindeer.

This marks Schwarzenegger’s first Christmas film since his memorable feud with Sinbad in the 1996 comedy Jingle All the Way. Ritchson previously displayed his action-comedy skills alongside Kevin James in Playdate, which premiered on the platform in November 2025.

Directed by Adam Shankman, known for films like The Pacifier and Disenchanted, The Man with the Bag features a script by Allan Rice. Rated PG, this film promises family-friendly heist fun, setting it apart from Reacher season 5, which series creator Lee Child has noted is “not fit for family consumption.”

The Man with the Bag will start streaming on December 2.

From off-grid survivalists to globe-trotting operatives, these series deliver brutal showdowns and cunning investigations.
