007 First Light Unveils Full Details of Upcoming Free DLC Expansion

IO Interactive’s Hitman series has built a reputation for delivering some of the best free DLC in the gaming world, and the latest installment is no exception. The recently launched 007 First Light has introduced the Extended Operations DLC, packed with exciting free updates.

First up is the Valhalla Protocol, a time-trial challenge that puts players behind the wheel of the powerful Aston Martin Valhalla, complete with machine-gun turrets. This fan-favorite vehicle is now more accessible than ever. The second major addition is Jungle Heist, a new mission where Bond must locate a safe’s code, crack it, and then battle his way to a rooftop escape.

Players can also look forward to two new weapons: the Squire Marksman Rifle and the Storm 12-Gauge Shotgun. To complement this firepower, Bond has three new outfits, including a stylish black suit with a bow tie. Capture these fresh looks in Photo Mode, which features unique filters and poses.

Additionally, two new gameplay modes have been introduced: New Game Plus allows players to retain several upgrades for a second playthrough, while the 00 difficulty setting offers a challenging experience for those seeking a tough test. And yes, you can now pet a dog.

Released on May 27, 007 First Light has received widespread acclaim. Critics have praised its sharp dialogue, solid stealth mechanics, and an incredibly memorable tutorial sequence. Players have echoed this sentiment, with the game boasting a 90% positive rating on Steam and impressive sales of 4 million copies as of August.

However, the future of the game may be uncertain. While IO Interactive self-published First Light, Amazon acquired the Bond franchise in 2025. Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s general manager of gaming, mentioned plans to publish future 007 titles directly but later suggested that players likely prefer IO Interactive to develop a sequel. Here’s hoping we haven’t seen the last of this iteration of Bond.
