Pokémon Unveils Its First Valentine’s Day Trading Card Game Set
The upcoming trading card game set for 2026, Delta Reign, is still on the horizon, but plans are already in motion for the future. Alongside the previously announced Pokémon ex★ set set to launch in 2027, fans can look forward to a fresh holiday release as the new year approaches.
According to reliable sources in the TCG community, the creators are gearing up to unveil the first-ever Valentine’s Day-themed set next year. This release is expected to differ from standard sets like Pitch Black or Chaos Rising, leaning more towards a limited-time offering. Speculation suggests that this Valentine’s set will follow a similar format to the Trick or Trade Halloween set, which featured 30 cards focused on ghost and dark-type Pokémon. While that set didn’t include exclusive cards, each card bore a distinctive orange Pikachu pumpkin stamp. The Valentine’s set is likely to feature its own unique Pikachu stamp, possibly in pink.
Details about the Valentine’s set are still scarce, as it hasn’t been officially announced yet. However, it’s anticipated to prominently showcase pink, red, and psychic-type Pokémon, given that fairy-type doesn’t exist in the TCG. The collection will likely be packaged in small sets designed for sharing with Valentine’s Day cards, and, as with most recent releases, it may be challenging to find.
For dedicated fans, the introduction of more seasonal sets is exciting news. It’s been two years since the last Trick or Trade set was released, and despite being primarily reprints without art cards, sealed Booster Bundles for that Halloween set are still pricey. A new seasonal set that captures mainstream interest could also help alleviate some of the demand for the TCG’s mainline releases.
Reports indicate that the Valentine’s Day TCG set is set to launch on January 27, 2027. Before that, players can expect the second major drop in the Pokémon 30th Anniversary series and a Rayquaza-themed set arriving in early November 2026.
An ambitious fan game might provide players with what Pokémon Winds and Waves won’t.
