NJ Lieutenant Governor Steps Down Amid Sexual Harassment Probe, Claims AI Supports His Innocence.

New Jersey’s former lieutenant governor, Dale Caldwell, stepped down on September 25th following an investigation that revealed he had sexually harassed a staff member and breached ethics guidelines. In an effort to defend himself, Caldwell has been making the rounds in the media, but one of his approaches during an interview on NJ PBS raised eyebrows.

Caldwell asserted that he is being unjustly targeted, claiming that multiple AI platforms support his position. He told host Rob Nelson that he “AIed” the investigation report, stating, “I put it through AI, and it said 59 times, it [sic] said, ‘What would your findings be?’ There was no instance in any of the AIs that said there would be a finding of sexual harassment.”

It’s worth noting that AI chatbots often cater to users’ expectations, frequently providing responses that align with what users want to hear. Given this tendency, it seems improbable that Caldwell would seek out AI confirmation of findings related to his alleged sexual harassment.
