Lego Unveils Three New Batman Sets Set for Release in Early 2027
The Dark Knight has made a significant mark in the Lego universe, boasting a movie and several video games under his belt. This legacy continues as the Lego Company has just announced three new Batman sets set to launch early next year.
First up is the Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set, which features the iconic Batmobile from the 1992 film alongside Penguin’s quirky duck-shaped vehicle. This Batmobile can shed its sides to morph into the sleek Batmissile. While this isn’t the first Lego rendition of the Batman Returns Batmobile, this version is much more budget-friendly compared to the recent 2,269-piece collector’s edition priced at $229.99. The Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set includes 672 pieces and is priced at $59.99.
For those who appreciate Batman’s impressive array of vehicles, another Bat-themed ride is on the horizon. The Arkham Batman Batmobile recreates the Caped Crusader’s vehicle from the 2015 game Batman: Arkham Knight. This tank-like Batmobile features functional suspension and comes with a Batman minifigure. It consists of 317 pieces and retails for $29.99.
What’s Batman without his arch-nemesis? The third set is The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover, a buildable mural inspired by the cover of Detective Comics #880 (2011), showcasing a grinning Joker. It’s described as “3D wall art” because certain elements, like bats and Batarangs, extend beyond the picture frame. This set is the most complex of the trio, featuring 1,849 pieces and priced at $169.99. All three sets are scheduled for release on January 1, 2027.
Lego Batman has had a standout year. On May 22, an open-world Batman video game titled Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was released, drawing inspiration from Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series. The game has received critical acclaim for its expansive gameplay and similarities to the Arkham titles, currently holding a solid 83 on Metacritic and a 95% user approval rating on Steam. The partnership between Lego and Batman is long-standing, with a Lego set from 2008 originally priced at $49.99 now fetching over 20 times its original value on secondary markets.
