Spider-Man: Brand New Day Now Streaming!

After an impressive run at the box office, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now available for home viewing. You can rent or buy the film on various Video on Demand platforms like Prime Video, Google Play, and Apple TV. Renting it costs $24.99, while purchasing it is priced at $29.99 on Prime Video. The film had a solid 70-day exclusive theatrical window, which is quite lengthy by today’s standards.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day was anticipated to do well, but it exceeded expectations with a staggering opening weekend, raking in $360 million at the domestic box office and breaking the record for the biggest debut previously held by Avengers: Endgame. The film went on to shatter even more of Endgame’s records, ultimately becoming the highest-grossing film in domestic box office history with $950 million. Globally, it stands as the third-highest-grossing movie, amassing $2.5 billion, trailing only behind Avatar and Endgame. While these figures aren’t adjusted for inflation, they still represent a remarkable achievement.

In addition to its digital release, a physical version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit shelves on December 15, 2026, available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD, including a Steelbook edition.

Following the film’s box office triumph and favorable reviews, a sequel has been confirmed by Kevin Feige, with Destin Daniel Cretton returning to direct. However, fans may have to wait a while, as Cretton is currently focused on his live-action adaptation of Naruto, which is expected to begin filming in 2027.

Looking ahead in the MCU, the next major event is Avengers: Doomsday, centered around Dr. Doom, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. It remains to be seen if it can replicate or surpass the theatrical success of Brand New Day. Following that, Avengers: Secret Wars, a direct sequel to Doomsday, is planned for December 17, 2027, though there are concerns about whether it will meet its original release date due to reported filming delays pushing it to early 2027.

After Secret Wars, the MCU is expected to kick off Phase Seven. So far, we know an X-Men movie is slated for May 5, 2028; a Ghost Rider film featuring Ryan Gosling is in the works for July 28, 2028; and a third Black Panther installment is set for December 15, 2028.

Clearly, the superhero genre is still going strong.
