Marvel Rivals is set to feature the legendary battle from Avengers: Endgame.
In the lead-up to Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Rivals has been rolling out an impressive array of tie-in events, but the latest mode unveiled today might just take the cake. On October 22, Rivals will launch Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame, a massive PvE experience where 50 players will join forces to take on Thanos and his minions.
While Marvel Rivals has previously offered PvE events, such as the four-player Halloween-themed Zombie Mode, this upcoming mode promises to be on a grander scale. The game’s creative director, Guangyun Chen (also known as Gaungguang), shared that the action will unfold in the ruins of the Avengers Compound, where players will confront Thanos and his army directly. Gaungguang hinted that the battle will echo some iconic moments from the films, including Thanos’ memorable “I am inevitable” line.
Although Thanos won’t be a playable character just yet, Rivals has been steadily adding more villains, with the recent introductions of The Hood and Gorr the God Butcher.
The latest Dev Vision video also teased additional content coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 10.5. On October 9, players can look forward to the Avengers: Infinity War mode, a two-versus-two event where teams draft upgrades for their characters while competing to seize opposing teams’ Infinity Stones, which grant powerful abilities.
In line with the season, the game will also introduce Halloween-themed skins on October 15 for characters like Devil Dino, Elsa, Blade, Deadpool, and others, coinciding with the All Hallows Glow event. On October 29, Rivals will launch the Night of Illusions mode, which Gaungguang describes as “a thrilling, suspenseful interactive puzzle experience,” promising something fresh for players. Additionally, the 18 versus 18 Annihilation mode will receive a new map, Alchemax Headquarters.
While there’s a lot on the horizon, some players expressed disappointment when it was revealed that Season 10 would only introduce one new character: Gorr. For the past eight seasons, the game had been consistently adding a new hero each month, making for an exciting run. Although that streak has come to an end, it seems there’s still plenty of content arriving this month to keep players engaged. The second phase of the long-running event will introduce a new PvE mode.
