KPop Demon Hunters Set to Launch in November with a Fresh Official Release
Netflix’s animated sensation, KPop Demon Hunters, has taken the streaming world by storm, racking up over 1 billion hours of viewing time and maintaining a record-breaking presence in the top 10 charts for an entire year. This November, fans will have the chance to bring the cultural phenomenon home with a new Criterion Collection release, making it easy to enjoy offline.
But that’s not all—Netflix is also launching a unique offline version of KPop Demon Hunters this November. In collaboration with Penguin Random House, they are introducing a special boxed set comic that reinterprets the animated film in an exciting new format.
KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set is a hefty 704-page, two-volume graphic novel that transforms the movie into a vibrant comic book. This new release takes scenes from the animated feature and arranges them like comic panels, complete with speech bubbles and sound effects. While fans will miss the lively animation and infectious K-pop tracks, those eager to dive deep into every frame and panel will soon have the chance to do so at their leisure.
Musically, KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set includes lyrics from the entire soundtrack, featuring hits like “Hunter’s Mantra” and “Jinu’s Lament.” The deluxe edition boasts a holographic foil slipcase, two paperback volumes with foil-stamped covers, and a spine design that showcases Rumi’s duality. Additionally, foldout posters of Huntr/x and their rivals, the Saja Boys, are part of the package.
Priced at $60, KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set will be available on November 3, coinciding with the Criterion Collection release on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray.
In the past 18 months, Netflix has been racing to keep up with KPop Demon Hunters’ unexpected success, flooding the market with merchandise ranging from American Girl dolls to Lego sets. In March 2026, Netflix officially secured a deal for a sequel, establishing a multiyear writing and directing partnership with the film’s directors, Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. This creative team will helm the next adventure of the dynamic demon slayers Rumi, Mira, and Zoey.
Before this announcement, rumors of a sequel had been circulating for months as Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation considered a follow-up after the film’s breakout success last summer. Sony quickly moved to negotiate with Kang and Appelhans for KPop Demon Hunters 2. The original film remains the most popular Netflix movie of all time.
Creating a sequel to this pop culture phenomenon, which produced a chart-topping soundtrack, garnered two Oscar nominations, won a Grammy, and captured the hearts of audiences of all ages, will be a significant challenge. However, it seems Kang, Appelhans, and their team will have ample time to craft the next chapter, as the sequel currently has no announced release date and is unlikely to debut before 2029 at the earliest.
