Arc Raiders Unveils Major Update with Quicker Leveling, New Map, and Additional Features

It’s time for Arc Raiders players to gear up and dive into the latest update, as the Frozen Trail patch has officially dropped, bringing a wealth of new features and enhancements to the game. This update is set to attract both seasoned veterans and newcomers to the extraction shooter scene.

Arc Raiders was a standout title in 2025, contributing to the rise of extraction shooters, but player engagement waned over time. With the Frozen Trail update launching on October 8, player numbers have surged, and this trend is expected to continue over the weekend, especially since the game is free-to-play until Monday, October 12, at 4 a.m. ET.

Among the highlights of the Frozen Trail update is the introduction of Pendola Pass, a new map featuring a frigid landscape filled with challenging encounters and formidable foes. To tackle these threats, players can wield new weapons like the Bantam and the Stiletto. If those don’t suit your style, you can now customize and enhance your favorite weapons for even greater impact.

But it’s not all about combat; the update also includes features for players looking to unwind. Two exciting gadgets have been added: a grappling hook for traversing the environment and a camera for capturing stunning in-game moments. Additionally, players can now create their own outposts, complete with hundreds of furniture pieces that can be acquired through looting and upgrades.

Given the scale of this update, the patch notes are extensive. Here are some key features:

Among the smaller changes, a few have caught the attention of fans. The Solo vs. Squads mode has been temporarily removed as the developers evaluate its viability as a matchmaking option. Players can now upgrade their stash size two additional times, allowing for a maximum of 328 slots without extra bonuses. You can also open the map while downed, and completing quests and milestones now rewards XP, helping players level up more quickly.

In terms of progression, the Legacy Pass has been retired, and players will now earn Reward Points to advance through the Frozen Trail Pass, which offers both free and premium rewards. For those seeking additional rewards, there’s a Twitch Drop event running from October 8 to November 4, where players can earn the Oxygen Respirator and Mailbox backpack attachments by watching streamers play Arc Raiders for 60 and 120 minutes, respectively.

“Different players have different needs.”
