F-Zero Unveils New Cheat Codes After 23 Years
After 23 years, one incredibly dedicated F-Zero GX player has cracked a mystery that fans thought was unsolvable. A Japanese gamer known as BTEST4HE has unearthed cheat codes hidden in the 2003 GameCube version of Nintendo’s F-Zero GX, allowing them to unlock all of the game’s event-exclusive “Gold Parts.”
For some background, unlocking these fan-named “Gold Parts” has been a long-standing quest for the community since the game’s launch. To put it simply, these special parts were only obtainable by attending promotional events in Japan, which were limited-time and took place over two decades ago. Outside of homebrew solutions, it seemed like these parts were lost to history—until now.

In a post on X, BTEST4HE revealed that eight unique cheat codes can be entered in any version of F-Zero GX, each unlocking specific sets of parts available for purchase in the in-game shop.
These codes work regardless of whether you’re playing the English or Japanese version, and they’re compatible with the original GameCube, the Nintendo Wii, and even the Nintendo Classics version on the Nintendo Switch 2.
However, there’s a significant catch. Five of the eight codes, including those that unlock the elusive Gold Parts, require input from four controllers at the same time. So, you’ll either need three friends or some serious multitasking skills to make it happen.
It’s truly remarkable that BTEST4HE has unraveled a 23-year-old enigma all on their own. Seriously, how did they even manage to figure this out?
