The 2024’s most creative slasher announces its sequel’s launch date.

Horror enthusiasts are fully immersed in Spooky Season, but there’s no shortage of slasher thrills lined up for the winter months. One of the most eagerly awaited titles is the sequel to 2024’s *In A Violent Nature*, an innovative microbudget slasher that redefines the supernatural serial killer trope.

During New York Comic Con on Saturday, a horror streaming service revealed the release date for *In A Violent Nature: Part 2*, which will continue the chilling saga of urban legend Johnny’s murderous rampage.

The announcement confirmed that *In A Violent Nature: Part 2* will hit theaters exclusively on February 12, 2027. Ry Barrett, reprising his role as the masked killer Johnny, shared the date shortly after the film’s world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September.

The official synopsis indicates that *In A Violent Nature: Part 2* picks up right where the first film left off, introducing new victims for Johnny and delving deeper into his dark backstory. “Johnny’s violent rampage leads him to a summer camp just as a young, outcast camper is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party,” the description reveals. The creators promise that this sequel will “push the boundaries of extreme kills even further,” featuring “uncompromising gore and unforgettable kills.” Johnny’s weapon of choice remains a rusty metal hook attached to a hefty chain.

The original film, released in 2024, brought a clever twist to the slasher genre by presenting the story from the perspective of its undead antagonist. “Awakened by some careless teens, local urban legend Johnny (Ry Barrett) proceeds to chase and murder them across the wooded American backcountry,” noted an entertainment editor in a recommendation for *In A Violent Nature*. “Johnny never speaks, and large stretches of the movie simply track his slow movement through the forest in what feels like a mix between watching someone else play a video game and listening to ASMR. It’s weirdly relaxing.”

*In A Violent Nature: Part 2* is co-directed by Nate Wilson and Chris Nash, who also penned the script.
