Unlocking the Emperor Modulator in Arc Raiders: A Quick Guide
⚡ Locate the Emperor Modulator in the final loot room of the new Emperor dungeon.
⚡ To access this, you’ll need to craft an Emperor Gateway Conduit through the Redirection event.
⚡ Additionally, you’ll have to tackle the challenges within The Emperor.
The Frozen Trail update for Arc Raiders introduces upgrades that allow you to create “Amplified” weapons. To do this, you’ll need a Level 4 Gunsmith bench, which requires an Emperor Modulator for crafting.
First, you must obtain an Emperor Gateway Conduit blueprint to create the key needed to unlock The Emperor on the Pendola Pass map. This blueprint can be a rare drop from Arc Couriers and other locations, but you can also gather it by collecting the materials needed for crafting:
All three materials can be found as random drops during the Redirection event on Pendola Pass. Wait for one of the Damaged Emperor Relays to activate, grab the beacon, place it in a quiet area, and stand back. Harvester payloads will drop in—loot the prominent central one sticking out of the ground for a chance to obtain these materials. Alternatively, you can enter The Emperor when another player unlocks it.
Once you have your key, you’re set to take on the dungeon by opening the door located in the west of Pendola Pass. Make sure to bring a solid loadout:
You can find containers along the way that hold Amplification Modules, but be cautious of the red ones, as they will explode after a short time.
For a detailed walkthrough of the encounters, a guide by a player is quite helpful, and I can confirm its accuracy from my own experience completing the dungeon. Here’s a breakdown of the encounters:
The first section features a corridor, a Hydra turret, and an electrified elevator that you can secure by destroying the yellow nodes. At the top of the elevator, The Emperor presents multiple possible encounter layouts:
You’ll slide down a ladder into a room filled with towering pillars. Destroy the yellow nodes on the pillars to lower one, allowing you to ride it up.
When the pillar reaches the top, you’ll enter a room where the walls begin to close in. Wait for them to retract, then sprint to the end without a door, being cautious of the gas that drains stamina. Turn left, wait for the walls to close in again, and quickly navigate through the area behind them to reach the door.
In this layout, you’ll approach from below. Watch out for the Hydra turrets in the room and the crusher below. Use your Snap Hook to quickly ascend to the door located in the top left corner. Take out any Hydras that activate and target you with your Hullcracker.
Next, you’ll enter a room filled with containers and harvester payload racks. Use your Snap Hook to reach the top and jump onto the container that lowers to ride it up.
This section features a tunnel of spinning lasers that inflict significant damage. If you crouch in the center behind the drum that blocks the lasers, you’ll be safe. Time your movements carefully to reach the end while minimizing damage.
In this layout, you’ll approach from above. Drop onto the crate in front of you, eliminate the first Hydra that activates, then slide down the rail ahead, run around it, and use your Snap Hook to reach the door on the left before the other two Hydras can lock on.
There may be additional layouts, but the Hydra room appears to be a consistent encounter. After this point, you will:
You’ll enter the final room, drop down onto a lower platform, and descend a ladder to the base. When you touch the floor, a large door at the far end will open, unleashing a wave of Arc enemies. It’s wise to hide and see if they disperse rather than engaging them all. Once the coast is clear, you can loot the containers and destroy the yellow nodes on either wall to reveal even more loot payloads that pop out of the racks.
One or two of these will contain Emperor Modulators, so be sure to stash one in your safe pocket. Afterward, you can exit through the large hatch that opened or the side doors if you destroyed the yellow nodes.
