He-Man is making a comeback in 2027 with Dragon Pearl of Destruction.

Just in time for He-Man’s birthday, Clear River Games has announced the release date for *He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction*, an upcoming action game inspired by the beloved franchise. Fans of Prince Adam and his allies won’t have to wait long, as the game is set to launch on February 4, 2027.

The game will see a physical release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, along with a digital version available on those platforms, as well as PS4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

*Dragon Pearl of Destruction* is a retro-style beat ‘em up developed by Bitmap Bureau, a studio known for creating arcade-inspired games based on classic franchises. In 2025, they released the 2D run-and-gun title *Terminator 2D: No Fate*, which garnered positive reviews despite some criticism regarding its length. Prior to that, they worked on the beat ‘em up *Final Vendetta* and the hack-and-slash game *Battle Axe*.

Players can choose from four characters: He-Man, Teela, Man-at-Arms, and She-Ra, each boasting unique moves and magical abilities. The Steam page reveals that the game will feature 13 levels, hinting at a relatively brief playtime, which is typical for this genre.

In addition to the upcoming game, He-Man recently made a splash in this summer’s live-action *Masters of the Universe* film. While the movie received a mixed response from critics, it struggled at the box office, earning $114 million against a budget of $170 to $200 million. However, it did become Prime Video’s most-streamed movie for several weeks.

He-Man has also been featured in several recent TV shows. The animated series *Masters of the Universe* aired on Netflix from July 2021 to January 2024, totaling 15 episodes. Before that, *She-Ra: Princesses of Power* ran from 2018 to 2020 for 52 episodes, serving as a reboot of the ‘80s series that was a spin-off of *He-Man and the Masters of the Universe*. This reboot received critical acclaim and built a strong fanbase thanks to its compelling characters, solid writing, and the central queer relationship between She-Ra and Catra.
