Check out the reveal video for Apple’s HomeView.

Apple has officially unveiled its highly anticipated smart home hub, the HomeView, during the “Welcome Home” event today. The event featured a video showcasing the new device, which you can check out for yourself.

The HomeView boasts a 7-inch square display and is priced at $299. It comes in two configurations: one designed for wall mounting and another that rests on a compact speaker base. This device serves multiple functions, including smart home control, accessing information via Siri AI, making video calls, and displaying footage from HomeKit Secure Video cameras. Additionally, it acts as a Matter controller and a Thread Border Router.

Apple CEO John Ternus shared a brief video on X, highlighting some of the customizable “faces” users can select for their HomeView.

The HomeView is available for preorder starting today, with four color choices: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. It is set to begin shipping on November 13th.

Rumors about Apple developing a smart home display have circulated for quite some time. Initially, the company aimed to launch a device in 2024 featuring an AI-enhanced Siri, but plans shifted after delays in Siri’s upgrade, as reported. Apple finally rolled out its Siri AI overhaul alongside its recent OS updates last month.
