GTA 6 PC Version Expected to Launch Shortly After Console Release
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, but many gamers are already looking ahead to its eventual PC release, which has become a tradition for the series. A recent report indicates that the wait for the PC version might not be as long as expected.
Sources close to the studio suggest that Rockstar plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC within the first quarter of 2027, likely between January and March of that year.
If this timeline holds true, it would be a significant improvement over the lengthy wait for Grand Theft Auto V, which debuted on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 but didn’t arrive on PC until April 2015—nearly two years later. While Red Dead Redemption 2 had a shorter gap, it still took a year from its PS4 and Xbox One release to its PC launch in 2019.
Though the wait can be frustrating, it often results in PC players receiving one of the best versions of the game. Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be a prime candidate for mods and user-generated content, which will likely keep its community thriving for years. However, it seems we may not get any official updates from Rockstar for a while, as the company is likely focused on maximizing sales for the upcoming console release. Regardless, the game is poised to be a massive success.
