Apple Music is set to unveil a new icon.
Apple Music’s classic red app icon is undergoing a transformation in the latest iOS 27.2 beta, with reports indicating a shift to a sleek black-and-white design. The eighth note on the icon has also been tweaked, featuring a sharper angle compared to its predecessor. This change aligns with a new Apple Music logo that was recently spotted on the Apple Music Hall website, suggesting a broader refresh for the app’s visual identity.
In this new design, the icon showcases a black music note on a white background in light mode, while the reverse is true for dark mode. But the updates don’t stop there; Apple Music widgets have also adopted black backgrounds, and the app now incorporates a splash of blue in the tab bar to highlight the active tab.
A user on X has shared images showcasing the new icon across different color modes, including a tinted version. If this monochrome design makes its way into a public iOS release, you might have the option to use the tinted homescreen feature to evoke the familiar look of the previous red icon.
