The Witcher 3 Remastered for Switch 2 is set to receive an upcoming patch.
All platforms, except the Nintendo Switch 2, have received updates for The Witcher 3 following the remastered version’s launch on September 29. Players have praised the developers for their dedication to delivering this free update to their acclaimed game, but it appears that Switch 2 users have been left out. Fortunately, the developers have shared some details about the eagerly awaited Switch 2 update.
On October 9, a patch (5.01) was released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered. This update brought essential changes and fixes, including enhanced performance, improved bloom effects, and new visual customization options. While this update significantly elevated the game’s quality, it was only available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, leaving Switch 2 players to deal with any lingering issues from the remaster. In the patch notes, the developers reassured fans that they were actively working on a patch for the Switch 2, promising more information soon.
Another patch for The Witcher 3 Remastered was rolled out on October 13. This minor hotfix aimed to boost stability and enhance the gameplay experience for PlayStation 5 users. Once again, Switch 2 players found themselves sidelined as other platforms received priority. It was no surprise when the developers announced the PS5 hotfix on social media, leading to a flood of frustrated comments from Switch 2 players—especially since the game duplication exploit had recently increased the number of Witcher 3 players on the Switch 2.
In response to the unhappy fans, the developers quickly assured them that the update is “on the way” and that they would have more information for Nintendo Switch 2 players very soon. This news brought relief to many, as it indicated that they wouldn’t have to wait much longer to experience the game in an improved state. According to the v5.01 patch notes, the upcoming Switch 2 update will incorporate all enhancements made for other platforms and address specific issues related to image clarity and sharpness.
