Game Freak confirms the conclusion of post-launch updates for Beast of Reincarnation.

Beast of Reincarnation will cease to receive regular updates just over two months post-launch. Developer Game Freak, renowned for their work on the Pokémon series, has revealed that the action RPG’s current post-launch update cycle is coming to a close. While this doesn’t necessarily indicate a complete end to support, it does imply that the studio is ready to shift focus to new projects.

In a detailed announcement on social media, Game Freak stated, “We want to share that our current post-launch update cycle is coming to a close.” The next patch is scheduled for October 19, which will mark the final update in this phase of significant post-launch enhancements. The message also noted that “frequent updates will be coming to an end,” encouraging players to provide feedback through the official support form. The language used is somewhat ambiguous, stopping short of explicitly stating that support for Beast of Reincarnation is ending, but players should not anticipate major content or fixes after October 19.

Beast of Reincarnation didn’t quite resonate as strongly as Game Freak might have hoped. In our review, we noted:

Beast of Reincarnation delivers exhilarating action, backed by the rich RPG mechanics you’d expect from a studio that has shaped the genre, yet its true identity feels obscured by unpolished concepts borrowed from some of the best games of the past decade. In its quest to convey a sense of prestige, Game Freak seems to hold back emotions at a time when vulnerability is most needed.

Looking ahead, Game Freak’s next major endeavor is, predictably, Pokémon. Following a series of leaks, Nintendo officially unveiled Pokémon Winds and Waves earlier this year. As the titles suggest, ocean exploration will play a significant role in these games, allowing players to surf across a truly explorable water biome for the first time.

Nintendo has also introduced the new starter Pokémon: Browt, the Bean Chick Pokémon; Pombon, the Puppy Pokémon; and Gecqua, the Water Gecko Pokémon. Winds and Waves are set to launch in 2027 and will be the first Pokémon titles exclusive to the Switch 2.

It seems Game Freak is destined to be tied to Pokémon for the long haul, huh?
