Elon Musk to Gift One SpaceX Share to Every Child in the U.S.

Elon Musk has announced plans to distribute one of his SpaceX shares to every child in the U.S. starting next year. With approximately 72 million children in the country as of July 2025, this initiative would amount to around $10.5 billion in shares, based on a report.

Musk, who leads both SpaceX and Tesla, intends to facilitate this giveaway through Trump Accounts, which are tax-advantaged investment accounts designed for American children. He acknowledged a post from Brad Gerstner, a key figure in launching Trump Accounts, expressing gratitude for the support, and mentioned that this giveaway “will be the first of many.”

This announcement follows a recent commitment from SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell, who revealed plans to allocate shares of her SpaceX stock to 2 million Trump Accounts. Additionally, the founder of Dell contributed $6.25 billion to these accounts, while Micron has also pledged a $250 million investment.

In conjunction with the share giveaway, Musk has been actively supporting Republican midterm election efforts, donating $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund PAC in September, which accounted for over half of the super PAC’s total receipts for the third quarter of the year. He also invested $76 million into the Super PAC he established in 2024, known as America PAC.
