JustWatch Expands to Include Streaming for TV Shows and Movies
After revealing plans for its own streaming service last month, JustWatch, a well-known platform for discovering content across services like Disney Plus and Netflix, has officially launched JustWatch TV. This new service features a free ad-supported subscription, a paid ad-free option, and movie rentals sourced from 30 global partners.
JustWatch TV can be accessed via the existing mobile apps and website, currently available in 12 markets including the US, Canada, France, Italy, Australia, and the UK. Content partners include Bleecker Street, Cineverse, Fremantle, New Regency, and Paramount, along with various regional collaborators.
Users can choose from three subscription options. JustWatch TV Free offers a curated selection of titles with ads, while the paid JustWatch TV Plus subscription provides access to over 300 ad-free titles and exclusive features, such as the ability to hide shows you’ve disliked or already watched. The JustWatch TV Store will feature a growing collection of recent and popular movies for rent, but it is initially limited to the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
The JustWatch TV Plus subscription is priced at $3.99 per month and includes a 10 percent discount on rentals. Additionally, a lifetime subscription is available for $49.99. The company believes that even if content prices rise, the value of the data it gathers will make the lifetime subscription a worthwhile investment.
