Fallout 4: FEVer Dreams Launches Unexpectedly
Bethesda has just given players a fantastic reason to dive back into Fallout 4, even if you’ve already spent countless hours exploring its post-apocalyptic world and its expansions. A fresh release brings back Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney, the original voices of Fallout 4’s main characters. However, this new adventure is set to offer a unique experience unlike anything you’ve faced in the wasteland before.
You kick off this journey trapped, weaponless, and seemingly infected by an active strain of the Forced Evolutionary Virus. While there are combat elements, FEVer Dreams takes a different approach by presenting players with an escape room-style dungeon filled with puzzles. This lore-rich experience aims to delve deeper into Fallout’s infamous bioweapon. Expect to encounter some familiar faces, but they’ll be equipped with entirely new gear and weapons.
This new campaign comes from a modding group, but unlike many fan projects, FEVer Dreams was developed in collaboration with Bethesda. The game’s description even states, “Presented by Bethesda Game Studios.”
The official trailer showcases FEVer Dreams as a mind-bending journey that plays with perception, which is just what you need when you’re stuck in a facility teeming with Deathclaws and mini nukes. Players must choose one of the two protagonists, while the other spouse will engage with you throughout the game. New characters will also make an appearance, presenting significant choices: at one point in the footage, a ghoul tells the player that only one of them can use the last dose of what seems to be a cure for FEV. “How do you think we should handle this?” the ghoul asks.
This could be the perfect way to keep busy while waiting for any new Fallout projects from Bethesda or Obsidian Entertainment to emerge. The new mod is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC users through Bethesda’s Creation platform. Once downloaded, you can start the quest by locating a Gutsy robot in the market area of Diamond City.
Long-awaited remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas are also on the horizon.
