Superhero Comedy Dispatch Unveils Major Update and Expands to New Platforms

It’s been an eventful first year for the Superhero Dispatch Network, and the team is marking the occasion with a wealth of new content. AdHoc Studio’s acclaimed narrative adventure is set to introduce two exciting behind-the-scenes modes, a mobile release date, and more.

This anniversary celebration comes as Dispatch hits over 5 million players, giving fans plenty of reasons to dive back into the superhero experience, which has been nominated for The Game Awards for two consecutive years.

A free update for Deluxe Edition owners now includes a new Commentary Mode, featuring over 16 hours of insights from the game’s cast and crew. Players can listen to actors like Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, and Erin Yvette, with separate commentary tracks for each episode. Different story choices also unlock unique commentary.

The newly introduced Storyboard Mode allows players to experience the entire game through its original storyboard animatics, providing a glimpse into how the game’s cinematic scenes, performances, and visual storytelling were crafted. Players can even combine both modes to enjoy commentary while viewing the original storyboards.

“In our industry, it’s often really hard to showcase those people and how the development process actually works, but fortunately our game is very weird and specific and affords us some unique opportunities,” co-creative director Nick Herman shared.

Both modes are part of the Deluxe Edition, while Standard Edition owners can upgrade for $10.99.

Players will soon be able to manage their superhero duties on the go, as Dispatch launches for Android and iOS on December 9. The mobile version has been redesigned for touch controls and vertical play, with support for Google Play Games on PC.

The first four episodes will be available for free, with the full game priced at $19.99.

The anniversary festivities extend beyond the game itself. Dispatch: Night Shift, a one-night concert on December 3 at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, will feature composer Andrew Arcadi and the SDN Company Band, along with Thot Squad, Bershy, Primer, Caroline Kingsbury, and Fartbarf. Tickets will be limited, with early access for AdHoc Studio email subscribers.

Fans can also grab new apparel, signed posters, and physical editions of the four comics that were previously included digitally with the Deluxe Edition. The upcoming Dispatch: Design Workshop hardcover book and collectible box, created in collaboration with Lost In Cult, will provide an in-depth look at the game’s development. Lost In Cult is also releasing the game’s soundtrack on vinyl.

Dispatch has thrived through challenges to become one of 2025’s standout titles. It follows a former superhero who takes on a desk job leading a team of ex-villain misfits. “It’s almost impossible not to commiserate with Robert Robertson III on some level, a person who’s lost everything and pursues a single goal in an almost suicidal manner, only for everything to go sideways almost immediately. Dispatch captures his personality to perfection,” noted a reviewer.

With fresh ways to experience the story, now is the perfect time to revisit Dispatch or discover it for the first time.
