Transform Your iPhone Duo into the Ultimate Folding Handheld with Delta

The Delta gaming emulator has received a significant upgrade, packed with exciting new features and support enhancements, including optimization for Apple’s iPhone Duo. Delta 2.0 now supports Sega Genesis games, introduces animated controller skins, offers custom Pokémon DLC experiences, and features a revamped UI designed to work seamlessly with Liquid Glass.

The addition of iPhone Duo support is a major highlight—if you’ve been curious about how well it can handle Nintendo DS games, this update is tailored for you. Delta’s creator, Riley Testut, mentioned that the app optimizes controller skins for “every pose in both portrait and landscape,” allowing for split-view multitasking while running other applications. Plus, folding the Duo puts your emulated DS games into sleep mode, mimicking the experience of closing a real DS.

The new support for Sega Genesis games also shines, featuring fresh iPhone and iPad controller skins that capture the classic Genesis controller aesthetic. Additionally, a DLC feature introduces “custom in-game experiences for classic Pokémon games,” including event items and rare Pokémon. Testut noted that this will support all mainline Pokémon titles released for the Game Boy Advance, with the first DLC set to arrive “soon,” developed by the Pokémon ROM hacking community without AI assistance.

Delta 2.0 also includes some experimental features, such as support for Epilogue’s GB/SN Operator gadgets, enabling you to play your old Nintendo cartridges on your iPhone or iPad. Another experimental addition is Custom Filters, which allow you to modify the visual style of your games with filter overlays. You can select from a variety of presets, like a CRT-inspired filter, or even import your own to relive the nostalgia of your gaming memories.

The app’s UI has been completely redesigned to align with Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, ensuring it adapts beautifully to all screen sizes across iPhones, iPads, and the iPhone Duo, giving default artwork a sleek, glassy appearance. New animated controller skins (including support for third-party designs), updated pages for “recents” and “favorites” in the game library, and enhanced settings options are also part of this overhaul.

In addition to gameplay enhancements, Delta is introducing global support for in-app purchases, featuring a new “Become a Patron” option. This release marks the first time Delta will be available on the EU App Store, expanding its reach globally on Apple’s app marketplace alongside AltStore PAL in supported regions.
