“Lord of the Rings Cast Comes Together for Guy Ritchie’s Netflix Comedy Crime Drama”

Production is officially kicking off for the third season of Netflix’s The Gentlemen, bringing with it an exciting lineup of new cast members. Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy-crime drama, featuring Theo James, is set to welcome some familiar faces, including two stars from The Fellowship of the Ring.

Netflix has revealed that Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom are joining the cast for season 3. Wood and Bloom are best known for their iconic roles as Frodo Baggins and Legolas in Peter Jackson’s epic Lord of the Rings film trilogy. They both returned for The Hobbit films, albeit in separate installments, making this collaboration in The Gentlemen the first time they’ve shared the screen since The Return of the King wrapped up in 2003.

Another notable addition to the cast is Robert Carlyle, recognized for his role in Trainspotting and his appearances in popular TV series like Once Upon a Time and Stargate: Universe. With the second season of The Gentlemen having just dropped this September, fans may have to be patient for season 3, as there was a two-year gap between the first two seasons, suggesting a potential return in 2028.

In related news, a new Lord of the Rings spinoff film titled The Hunt for Gollum is currently in the works, with Andy Serkis set to direct and reprise his role as Gollum. The story will follow Aragorn’s quest to capture Gollum and extract information about the One Ring.

Elijah Wood is confirmed to return as Frodo, and Ian McKellen will reprise his role as Gandalf. Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) will take over the role of Aragorn from Viggo Mortensen. The cast also features Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Winslet, and Leo Woodall. This film is scheduled for release on December 17, 2027. Meanwhile, Tolkien enthusiasts can look forward to the next season of Amazon’s Rings of Power, set to premiere on November 11.
