New Characters Unveiled in Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave Leak, Featuring a Surprising Addition
While it’s unlikely that many players have fully completed Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, that hasn’t stopped the community from diving deep into its vast world. Some fans have even taken it a step further, utilizing AI-assisted jailbreaking to datamine every asset the game has to offer.
Recently, this datamine uncovered some intriguing paired endings that were more bizarre than anticipated. Now, fans have begun extracting character sprites from the game’s code, revealing previously unseen characters and some surprising details that may come to light with the additional routes set to launch in 2027.
The character sprites were shared on X, igniting a lively conversation among the Fire Emblem community on Reddit. Be cautious, as the discussions there (and in this piece) include spoilers for all parts of Fortune’s Weave, particularly Parts 2 and 3.
With four Flame Lord routes—Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda—already playable, the most shocking aspect of the datamined data is the introduction of several characters who have yet to make an appearance. This isn’t entirely unexpected, as previous insights from an AMA indicated that Fortune’s Weave initially featured eight routes. The upcoming expansion is set to delve deeper into the four omitted lords—Orchel, Talimun, Bertrand, and Anatolia—suggesting that their character sprites might show up in those narratives.
However, the datamine hints at more than just new faces. It also reveals various iterations of some characters, including Bertrand. One version depicts him in his youth, before he became known as The White-Maned Demon, sporting black hair and the same armor he wore during a pivotal moment in Leda’s backstory. Another version shows him in gladiator attire, adding to the speculation that these variations could feature in Bertrand’s route in the 2027 expansion.
One character reveal that has certainly caught the attention of fans is a shirtless Talimun. As the head of the Vandahl Trading Company, Talimun is known for his uncanny luck and charm, attracting admirers like his second-in-command, Ursula, and the pink-haired Ludia. While not every player may be thrilled by this reveal, it’s clear that these fictional characters are quite taken with him.
It’s important to note that, while these revelations are exciting, there’s no guarantee that any of these characters will appear in future DLCs; for now, it remains speculation. Fortune’s Weave was originally envisioned as a much larger project, and while it still boasts significant ambition, many features were ultimately cut or left incomplete. Similar datamining efforts for Fire Emblem: Three Houses uncovered content that never made it into the final game.
Nonetheless, we can only hope that some of this datamined information proves accurate. Whether for the thrilling character reveals or simply to satisfy fans eager for a glimpse of a shirtless Talimun, there’s plenty to look forward to.
