Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 director emphasizes the significance of the Highwind in the new RPG, with a name likely on the horizon.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 might not have an official title just yet, but the creative leads are zeroing in on it and plan to finalize their choice by the end of the year.

In a recent chat with a YouTube content creator, Naoki Hamaguchi, co-director of the Final Fantasy Remake and director of Rebirth, shared that he and Tetsuya Nomura, who also co-directs the Remake and serves as the creative director for Rebirth, have narrowed their options down to two potential titles. “Tetsuya Nomura and I have already narrowed it down to two, and we will decide on which one within the year,” he explained.

During the interview, Hamaguchi also hinted that a key term for the third and final installment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is “Highwind.” While he didn’t go into detail, it’s likely a reference to the iconic airship that fans know will play a significant role in the upcoming RPG. Last year, he emphasized the importance of making the map in FF7 Rebirth explorable, stating, “I definitely want to address the same for what is likely expected from our experience with the Highwind to explore the world.”

Additionally, Hamaguchi mentioned that the team at Square Enix aims to deliver a new gaming experience and scale with FF7R Part 3 compared to its predecessors. This suggests players can anticipate a fresh take in the upcoming title. He noted that producer Yoshinori Kitase had mentioned that releasing the remake in parts has allowed the developers to incorporate fan feedback after each installment. As a result, Hamaguchi expressed confidence that “the third game should be a better experience because we’ve learned and we know what people want and they like.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the official title of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, which should hint at a proper reveal in the near future.
