# Snag This C64-Inspired 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard for Just £79

If you’re a fan of retro gaming gear, the 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard is a must-have. This keyboard has become a favorite among gamers for its thoughtful design and quality build. The C64 variant is currently available for just £79, making it a great time to pick one up.

This keyboard pays homage to the classic Commodore 64 with its nostalgic colors and patterns. Its tenkeyless (TKL) layout is perfect for those looking to save desk space without sacrificing functionality. Plus, it features a UK ISO layout, a welcome change from previous models that were only available in ANSI US.

The keyboard is packed with handy extras, including dials for volume control and connectivity options. However, the switch from ANSI to ISO has resulted in a downgrade in keycap quality, moving from durable dye-sublimated PBT to more affordable ABS plastic. On the back, you’ll find a USB-C port for charging or wired use, along with four jacks for the keyboard’s programmable buttons, reminiscent of the A & B buttons on classic NES controllers.

Inside, the keyboard is equipped with Kailh Box White V2 switches, known for their satisfying click and smooth actuation, requiring a lighter 45g force for quicker inputs. If you prefer different switches, the keyboard is hot-swappable, allowing you to customize it with any compatible MX-style switches. It supports full N-key rollover, ensuring that all your key presses are registered, and features an aluminum plate for added durability. Connectivity options include a 2.4GHz USB receiver, Bluetooth, or a wired connection. The only notable absence is RGB lighting, but this minor trade-off is worth it for such a stylish keyboard.

If you’re in the market for a retro-inspired mechanical keyboard at a fantastic price, this deal on the C64-inspired 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard is definitely worth considering.
