Complete Undertaker’s Remembrance and find the Scholar in Elden Ring’s Nightreign’s Forsaken Hollows DLC.

The Undertaker Remembrance is relatively straightforward compared to many other Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign. There’s just one tricky step as you assist this corrupted abbess in her search for the Scholar in Limveld. The catch? The Scholar is actually located in The Great Hollow event.

Technically, that’s still in Limveld, but it’s a completely different map. As you’ll notice from the Remembrance entries, the Undertaker is a nun who has started consuming the night corruption, which explains the rather questionable images of her licking night juice off the wall while the Scholar looks on. No judgment here!

Alongside a walkthrough for all quest chapters, I’ve included details on what to do after Chapter 6 to unlock her Remembrance skin and ending.

As is typical for Nightreign Remembrances, you’ll first need to embark on some expeditions with the character to gather Memory Fragments, which will unlock the following Remembrance chapters. For the Undertaker, I completed a couple of Tricephalus expeditions, which got me to Chapter 2, and then Chapter 3, where the first Remembrance quest kicks off.

This Remembrance is quite direct. Upon entering, you’ll find yourself in a room with the Iron Menial. Talk to him, and he’ll turn hostile, pulling out some knives and trying to attack you. After defeating him, you’ll need to navigate through the Roundtable Hold, taking out the other Nightfarers.

Afterward, you’ll wake up in the chapel and can speak to the Iron Menial again to apologize. He’ll mention he’s leaving the hold in search of something and will hand you the Leather Monocle Case relic, which provides:

You might be curious about what that first passive means—essentially, this relic is all about self-buffing with Sacred Seals, whether through weapon enhancements or HP/damage negation spells. It leverages the Undertaker’s high faith stat, extends the duration of those spells, and boosts your attack while they’re active.

Once you finish your conversation with the Scholar, you can exit through the nearby portal to wrap up this chapter.

After gathering a couple more Memory Fragments through expeditions, unlocking Chapter 4 and then Chapter 5, you’ll receive another task. Enter the Remembrance, and then:

He’ll inform you that a new Shifting Earth event has occurred (The Great Hollow) and that the Scholar is likely there. You’ll get the objective “Search for the Scholar in Limveld,” which is misleading. He’s not on the Limveld map; he’s in The Great Hollow map, so you’ll want to launch an expedition while the event is active. If the event isn’t available, remember that you can activate any Shifting Earth event using Sovereign Sigils at the sigil store, provided you’ve defeated an Everdark Sovereign to unlock it.

Once in The Great Hollow, head to the large castle in the northwest of the map (marked with a red flag icon). The video above shows how to reach the Scholar, but if you can’t view it, here are the instructions. Since there are Fire Knights and other enemies in that area, make sure to read these instructions carefully before proceeding, as you won’t have time to stop and check mid-fight.

You don’t need to complete the expedition for it to count, but be sure not to quit out. Essentially, just die to the first night boss, and you can return to the hold with the objective still marked as complete. After that, speak to the Scholar back in the DLC chapel to receive the Night-Hued Glass, Bundled Paper, and Undertaker’s Chalice once you exit the Remembrance.

Once you finish Chapter 5 and reach Chapter 6, you’ll need to complete a few tasks to finalize her Remembrance and unlock her special skin. Keep in mind that these aren’t guided parts of the Remembrance; you just need to do them. These tasks are:

When you return to the Roundtable Hold, you’ll have unlocked the Remembrance skin (notably, the Undertaker has a different necklace) and the Glass Necklace relic, which provides:

With that, you’ve completed the Undertaker’s Remembrance. Now it’s time to tackle the Scholar.
