A New Video Game Inspired by The Boys Promises to Capture Its Unique Humor and Intensity

After an exciting tease from series creator Eric Kripke, a new video game set in The Boys universe has been officially announced by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and developer Arvore. Titled The Boys: Trigger Warning, this game is set to launch in 2026 for Meta Quest and PlayStation VR 2. Preorders are currently available at a promotional price of $24 USD on the Meta Quest storefront, while PSVR 2 users can add it to their wishlist on the PlayStation Store, though preorders aren’t open yet.

Trigger Warning is a stealth-action VR experience that places players in the shoes of a brand-new character who stumbles upon a disturbing secret from Vought, turning a family outing into a chaotic nightmare. Players will step into the role of a superhero, or “Supe” as they’re known in The Boys, and team up with The Boys to infiltrate Vought and seek revenge in the most chaotic manner possible. The game promises to blend stealth and combat with the franchise’s signature dark humor, offering a fresh narrative that resonates with the world fans adore.

The developers at Arvore collaborated closely with the show’s writers and cast to ensure they capture the “edge, humor, and brutality” that defines the main TV series. Previously, Kripke hinted at a desire for a console game for The Boys on Xbox and PlayStation, but there were no concrete plans. His mention of “other kinds of video games” likely points to Trigger Warning. While characters from The Boys have made appearances in titles like Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat, a dedicated console game for the series has yet to be released.

The Boys, based on the comics, is a popular TV series on Prime Video that has also inspired a spin-off series, Gen V, with another spin-off titled The Boys: Mexico currently in development. Additionally, a prequel series, Vought Rising, set in the 1950s, is on the horizon. Fans can look forward to the main series returning for its fifth and final season in April 2026 on Prime Video.
