Baldur’s Gate 3 Features 236 Hours of Dialogue, with the Most Talkative Character Being No Surprise

Anyone who’s dived into Baldur’s Gate 3 knows just how expansive this RPG is. Developed by Larian Studios, it offers countless hours of gameplay, packed with an immense amount of dialogue. So, how much voice acting is actually in the game? A fan calculated it to be just shy of ten days’ worth of content.

As highlighted by an outlet, a Reddit user named Everwhite-moonlight took on the ambitious task of cataloging every spoken line throughout the Forgotten Realms in Baldur’s Gate 3, sharing a detailed breakdown of their findings. “I have done my best to document all the in-game spoken dialogue, voice lines, and their actors, along with some other interesting details!” they noted.

According to their research, there are approximately 173,642 voice files in the game, totaling around 236 hours, 55 minutes, and 45 seconds of audio. That translates to nine full days and 20 hours of voice lines spread across about 2,068 characters!

When you consider the sheer volume, it’s an impressive feat. Unsurprisingly, the narrator, voiced by Amelia Tyler, has the most lines, clocking in at 14 hours, 43 minutes, and 55 seconds. That’s a significant amount of time spent in the recording studio!

You might be wondering which main character has the most dialogue. That title goes to Astarion, who boasts 13 hours, six minutes, and 23 seconds of spoken lines. Neil Newbon certainly put in the effort!

Following Astarion, Shadowheart ranks third with just under 12-and-a-half hours, while Gael and Lae’zel round out the top five, each with over 11 hours. Karlach comes in sixth with ten hours and 25 minutes, and it’s only in seventh place that Wyll dips into single-digit hours.

This monumental effort contributes significantly to the immersive experience that Baldur’s Gate 3 offers. Larian’s approach to adapting a Dungeons and Dragons campaign has set new benchmarks for both the source material and the RPG genre, with the cast playing a crucial role in bringing these characters to life, captivating both new and veteran fans alike.
