Best Buy Welcomes Riot Games CEO to Its Board of Directors
U.S.-based electronics retailer Best Buy has announced the appointment of Dylan Jadeja to its board of directors. Jadeja, who is currently the CEO of Riot Games, has been a key player at the studio behind Valorant and League of Legends for over 15 years.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to join such a trusted, mission-driven brand that has connected deeply with consumers for nearly 60 years,” Jadeja stated. “Best Buy’s evolution into a company that brings new technology to life – in stores, online, and in-home – is incredibly compelling, and I look forward to contributing to the team on that journey.”
Best Buy highlighted that Jadeja’s extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the board, particularly in areas like consumer brands, digital commerce, and engaging passionate global gaming communities.
Jadeja began his journey with Riot Games in 2011 after transitioning from investment firm Goldman Sachs, where he took on the roles of chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He held these positions until 2017, when he was promoted to president of Riot Games, and in 2023, he ascended to the role of CEO.
In addition to its robust online presence, Best Buy operates over 1,000 physical retail stores across the United States and has a significant number of locations worldwide. Like many retailers with brick-and-mortar operations, Best Buy faces stiff competition from online giants like Amazon, as well as other physical stores such as Walmart and Target.
