Getting Started with the Michael Mission in GTA Online’s Hills Update

The latest update for GTA Online, dubbed “Safehouse in the Hills,” has dropped, bringing some exciting new content. The standout feature of this update is the return of Michael De Santa, a key character from GTA 5’s storyline. He has a new mission for you that promises a hefty cash reward, but first, you’ll need to set up shop in Los Santos. Here’s what you need to do to kick off the new Michael mission in GTA Online.

**Buying a Mansion from the Safehouse in the Hills Update**
Before diving into the new missions, you’ll need to snag a mansion. Upon launching GTA Online after the update, you’ll find three luxurious mansions available on the Prix Luxury Real Estate website:
– The Tongva Estate
– The Vinewood Residence
– Richman Villa

Each mansion will set you back over $11 million in-game, so make sure your virtual bank account is ready if you want to access the new content. Once you’ve purchased one of these stunning properties, you can either explore your new digs or head straight to the “A” icon on your map, located in downtown Los Santos. This icon represents Avi Schwartzman, who will guide you through your initial missions in the Safehouse in the Hills update.

**Completing the KnoWay Out Missions**
Avi Schwartzman will assign you five setup missions known as “KnoWay Out.” When you reach the “A” icon, you’ll find a ringing payphone that you need to answer to connect with Avi. After your conversation, you’ll receive your first mission for the heist, titled “Negative Press.” Continue completing the setup missions for Avi, and each time you finish one, a new “A” icon will appear on your map for the next mission. Once you’ve completed all five KnoWay Out missions, it’s time to meet Michael in GTA Online.

**Starting the Michael Mission**
Here’s where a bit of randomness comes into play with the Safehouse in the Hills update. After finishing your fifth mission for Avi, you’ll need to wait for him to call you on your cellphone. This wait can range from a few minutes to over an hour, and there’s no way to predict how long it will take. So, take some time to explore Los Santos until you receive the call from Avi. Once you do, you’ll officially kick off the Michael mission in Safehouse in the Hills. The mission, titled “Home Sweet Home,” features Michael prominently and completing it will net you $500,000, along with some hints about future GTA Online DLCs that may involve Michael and other familiar faces. “Home Sweet Home” is a more extensive mission compared to others in this update, giving you ample time to interact with Michael. You can replay it, but the $500,000 reward is only available on your first run.
