Setting Up the Xbox Mobile App and Your New Console: A Step-by-Step Guide
Using the Xbox mobile app, you can quickly set up your new Xbox Series X, streamlining the process of getting your settings and profiles in order. While it will still take some time, following the instructions in the app on your mobile device allows you to skip navigating through every menu and option, with updates starting automatically. This means you can dive into gaming much faster, so here’s how to get started with the Xbox mobile app.
For Android users, downloading the Xbox mobile app is straightforward. Just head to the Google Play Store, search for “Xbox,” and install it.
iOS users can do the same on the App Store to get the Xbox app on their Apple devices. Once your console setup is complete, you can use this app to manage and download any screenshots and clips captured with the Xbox Share button on the updated controller that comes with your Xbox Series X.
After successfully installing the Xbox app on your mobile device, launch it and navigate to the Library tab, represented by an icon of three books at the bottom. Select ‘Consoles’ and then ‘Set up a new console.’ Simply follow the on-screen instructions to configure your settings through the app.
Once your Xbox Series X or S has finished updating, your Gamertag will appear on the screen. At this point, you can pair your Xbox Series X controller with the console to complete the setup.
Now you’re all set to start installing Xbox Series X games, whether through digital downloads, discs, or even transferring from an external source. If you run into any issues with the Xbox mobile app or the setup process, you can always finish it directly on the console after connecting your controller. You might also want to tweak your power settings and enable Xbox Series X Sleep mode.
