GTA Online’s ‘A Safehouse in the Hills’ Update Introduces Mansions, New Cars and Freeroam Upgrades
Rockstar Games has rolled out one of GTA Online’s most requested features: luxury mansions, arriving with the A Safehouse in the Hills update. Years of speculation, leaks, and community requests have finally materialised as high-end estates land in Los Santos—giving long-time grinders something substantial to flaunt beyond supercars, yachts, and weaponized vehicles.
Mansion Prices and What’s New Inside
Players can now browse Prix Luxury Real Estate via their in-game phone to purchase one of three new mansion properties. As expected, the prices are steep, putting them firmly in end-game territory. The base costs are as follows:

- Tongva Estate
Base: $11,500,000
Discounted: $9,500,000 (for players who completed New Listings missions before Dec 7)

- Vinewood Residence
Base: $12,200,000
Discounted: $10,200,000

- Richman Villa
Base: $12,800,000
Discounted: $10,800,000
These figures only cover the base structures—upgrades, interior customisation, and optional features add even more cost. Mansions come with expansive garages, display podiums, trophy halls, private security, and even animal kennels, effectively confirming that players can now keep pets. Rockstar also introduces Haviland, a personal virtual assistant capable of offering production boosts and other quality-of-life enhancements.
Beyond real estate, the update also brings new story missions involving efforts to sabotage a surveillance network, with Michael De Santa making a return to the narrative—voiced once again by Ned Luke.
Day One Vehicle Prices and Freeroam Additions
The update also expands GTA Online’s vehicle collection with a lineup of new supercars, sports cars, and special variants. Day-one arrivals include:

| Grotti Itali Classic | Super | $2,025,000 | New |

Law enforcement vehicles such as Buffalo STX Cop Car and Buffalo Cop Car also arrive via Warstock, priced according to unlock conditions.
Freeroam gameplay also evolves through the introduction of AI-driven “KnoWay” robotaxis, a tongue-in-cheek nod to Waymo self-driving cars. These autonomous taxis now roam Los Santos, adding a slightly futuristic feel to the city’s traffic patterns.
Mission Creator and Gameplay Enhancements
Perhaps one of the biggest surprises is the long-awaited Mission Creator, finally launching for all versions of GTA Online. The toolset is described as a comprehensive system allowing players to construct, share, and publish custom missions using advanced mechanics, custom objectives, placed NPCs, and more. This effectively opens a new chapter for community-generated content and replayability.
Additionally, the update includes freemode events, gameplay improvements, and vehicle modifications—such as expanded Missile Lock-On Jammer compatibility and new Hao’s Special Works upgrades.
