Aaron Moten and Todd Howard share their favorite set details and hint at the possible appearance of aliens in Fallout’s second season.
Fallout’s inaugural season truly impressed with its stunning set design, even crafting real, functional Pip-Boys for the cast to utilize.
According to Bethesda director Todd Howard, the upcoming second season is set to elevate the experience even further, although one of the actors may have revealed a bit too much about an intriguing Easter egg.
Howard shared his favorite set detail, saying, “For me, it’s the store in Freeside,” referencing the bustling settlement that many players explored in New Vegas. “You walk in the store and they’re selling all the little doodads and ammo and Stimpaks. They just built everything; I was browsing the store for real. Like, wow: You just built all of this stuff because it might be in frame.”
Aaron Moten, reprising his role as Maximus in the Prime Video series, added, “One of the biggest wow moments was the warehouse the Brotherhood gets into and the things that were inside there. At one point, I was going around the set, pulling things out and being like, ‘Can we get this on camera?’ It was so amazing. The detail is remarkable – the alien in the fridge, that one’s a good one.”
Howard quickly chimed in, “No spoilers,” hinting that Moten may have inadvertently revealed a glimpse into one of the game series’ most ambitious and cosmic side stories for Fallout season 2.
Fans of the franchise will recognize the Zetans, the alien race that has made appearances in several titles, particularly in Fallout 3’s Mothership Zeta DLC.
While we shouldn’t expect little green men to show up and chat with Ghouls or interact with the Brotherhood of Steel, it seems that, as Howard suggests, every frame will be packed with Easter eggs and quirky details that will thrill longtime fans and delight newcomers alike.
Fallout season 2 is set to premiere on Prime Video on December 17.
