Get Ready for Total War: Warhammer 40K!

Another Total Wargame is on the horizon. Following the announcement of Total War: Medieval III, Creative Assembly has also confirmed that Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is in development, and it already has a Steam page.

Unveiled during the Game Awards 2025, this latest installment in the grand strategy series promises intense grimdark warfare on a galactic scale. While a release date hasn’t been set, a trailer showcasing actual gameplay has been released, and it looks stunning.

Here’s what we know:

Total War’s acclaimed blend of turn-based strategy and massive real-time battles is set to plunge into the dark, science-fantasy realm of Warhammer 40,000.

In the Era Indomitus, the galaxy is engulfed in relentless conflict, with every soul’s survival hanging by a thread. Players will take command of iconic factions, customize their war machines, and engage in brutal battles as they carve a bloody path across the stars.

There’s no room for peace, no breaks, and no mercy—only war.

Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will feature factions like Space Marines, Orks, Aeldari, and Astra Militarum. Staying true to the tabletop roots, players will have the ability to customize their own sub-factions with unique banners, emblems, philosophies, tactical abilities, signature traits, and arcane wargear. Strategy will focus on capturing planets, upgrading fleets, and managing your war economy in real-time. If the situation becomes dire, you’ll even have the option to nuke entire planets.

If everything goes according to plan, it could deliver the expansive battles of Space Marine 2, amplified across the entire galaxy. We’ll have to wait and see.
