Hogwarts Legacy Available for Free on Epic Games Store

As part of the festivities surrounding The Game Awards, Epic Games has announced an exciting free game giveaway: 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy, set in the enchanting Wizarding World of Harry Potter, is available for free for a week on the Epic Games Store.

Usually, Epic reveals its free game a week in advance, but this time, the announcement was shrouded in mystery. When last week’s free games went live, the thumbnail for the upcoming giveaway featured a wrapped holiday present, complete with a bow, hinting that viewers should tune in to The Game Awards for the big reveal.

This time of year, Epic Games is known for its generosity, often rolling out a series of fantastic game giveaways. In 2024, the Epic Games Store offered over a dozen titles in the two weeks leading up to the new year, including Dredge, Control, and Sifu.

To snag Hogwarts Legacy for free, simply log in to the Epic Games Store and claim your copy. The game will be available at no cost until Thursday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. EST, when the next surprise game will be unveiled.
