Lara Croft Gets a New Voice in Upcoming Tomb Raider Games with a Seasoned Gaming Veteran

The recently announced Tomb Raider titles, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, will see Alix Wilton Regan stepping into the role of Lara Croft. This marks a shift from the previous trilogy—Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider—where Camilla Luddington provided the voice and motion capture for the iconic character. Wilton Regan is recognized for her performances as Samantha Traynor in Mass Effect 3 and the female Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition, as well as her role as Aya in Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the original Tomb Raider, boasting modern visuals, revamped gameplay mechanics, and a deeper narrative. Catalyst, on the other hand, is a fresh addition to the franchise, developed with Unreal Engine 5 and touted as the “most expansive entry yet.” Legacy of Atlantis is slated for a 2026 release, while Catalyst is set to launch in 2027. Both games will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, though there’s no information yet regarding a Switch 2 version. Additionally, outside the gaming realm, a new live-action Tomb Raider series is in the works at Prime Video, featuring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft and Sigourney Weaver as Wallace.
