“Nioh 3 Demo Featuring Multiplayer Set to Launch Early 2026, Developers Call It the Franchise’s Best”
Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo are gearing up to unleash the next chapter in their Soulslike RPG saga with Nioh 3, set to deliver intense battles and nightmarish creatures. Gamers can look forward to a substantial demo arriving shortly after the new year kicks off.
Fumihiko Yasuda, the head of Team Ninja and producer of Nioh 3, announced that the demo will be available on January 29, 2026, just a week ahead of the full game’s release on February 6, 2026.
Yasuda mentioned that players will be able to transfer their save data from the demo to the full game. The demo will also feature an online multiplayer mode for up to three players, allowing friends to join in on the action before the official launch. Additionally, early purchasers will receive exclusive cosmetics inspired by the main characters from Nioh and Nioh 2.
“We hope everyone enjoys the latest installment in the Nioh series,” Yasuda stated. “With its deeply evolved open-field exploration and a playstyle that merges ninja and samurai elements, we believe this is the best game in franchise history and can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions once they finally get the chance to play.”
This announcement follows a thrilling, action-packed trailer that premiered at The Game Awards 2025, showcasing the ability to switch fluidly between two distinct combat styles.
Nioh is “not the kind of game that lives or dies on things like atmosphere or graphics,” according to the producer, who credits fan feedback for the series’ evolution and success.
