Hogwarts Legacy is available for free on the Epic Games Store, but act quickly to claim your copy before it’s gone!

Hogwarts Legacy, the much-discussed Harry Potter RPG, is currently available for free, but you’ll need to act quickly before it disappears like a well-cast spell.

Just yesterday, the Epic Games Store revealed that this blockbuster open-world fantasy title can be snagged for free on its platform. Simply log in, head to the Hogwarts Legacy page, and download it—once you do, it’s yours to keep for as long as the Epic Games Store exists.

The Epic Games Store rotates free mystery games every week, so if you want to immerse yourself in some magical adventures, make sure to grab Hogwarts Legacy before December 18, 2025, when it will be swapped out for another free title.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the DLC and Director’s Cut for Hogwarts Legacy, which was reportedly developed in collaboration with Rocksteady, the studio behind the Batman Arkham series, had been canceled due to uncertainty about its value to players. While there’s been no news on a sequel, given Hogwarts Legacy’s impressive sales, it wouldn’t be surprising if developer Avalanche is already working on a follow-up.

In other news, Netflix has expressed interest in acquiring Warner Bros, which includes its subsidiaries like DC, HBO, and WB Games—home to Rocksteady, many LEGO games, Avalanche, NetherRealm, and Mortal Kombat. The impact of this significant acquisition on Warner Bros’ gaming division remains to be seen.

The release of Hogwarts Legacy has sparked considerable debate, particularly due to J.K. Rowling’s views on gender identity, which have raised questions about inclusivity within the Harry Potter community.
