Arc Raiders Team Committed to Long-Term Support for Their Popular Shooter
Embark Studios is committed to developing Arc Raiders for as long as players remain engaged with the shooter.
Aside from the record-breaking and award-winning Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it’s tough to find a more significant breakout title in 2025 than Arc Raiders. This latest offering from Embark Studios has completely dominated the holiday shooter conversation, even in a year when Battlefield made a strong return and Call of Duty launched a new installment. Arc Raiders solidified its top position in the shooter genre by winning Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards, and as long as players are invested, Embark has no intention of letting it go.
In a conversation with an outlet, Robert Sammelin, the art director at Embark, shared that the studio has a “10-year plan” and aims to keep the game thriving for as long as possible. “It’s a live game,” he noted.
He elaborated, “We want to keep it alive for the longest time possible, as long as players engage with it, have fun, and see it evolving positively.”
Sammelin emphasized the importance of adapting the game based on community feedback and behaviors, stating that it’s crucial to identify what players enjoy while also introducing new elements that provide fresh challenges and opportunities.
So, if you’re concerned that Arc Raiders might meet the same fate as many multiplayer titles in the live-service landscape, there’s no need to worry. Sammelin reassured players, “I think there’s a wide range of routes that we can take with this, and time will tell how we explore those. But we definitely have a solid plan for its future.”
