Bungie’s Marathon, the highly anticipated shooter, is set to release in March.

Bungie’s Marathon, the highly anticipated extraction shooter, has been pushed back from its original September launch to March 2026. The studio is aiming for a price point of $39.99, and purchasing the game will grant players full access, including a roadmap of free gameplay updates throughout the year, as detailed in a recent blog post.

The delay was announced in June following feedback from alpha testing. Since then, Bungie has introduced new features such as proximity chat and a solo queue option. “Since the Alpha playtest in April, we’ve been quietly iterating on Marathon alongside a dedicated community of players,” the studio stated. “Every closed playtest was a chance for us to hear candid feedback about what’s working, what needs work, and where Marathon can shine.”

To alleviate concerns about missing out, the game’s “Rewards Passes” will not expire, and players will have the option to purchase past passes. Bungie also reassures players that “we believe in preserving competitive integrity in Marathon, so survival will never come down to how much money you spend.”
